What Happens To Ammunition In A Fire?

Have you ever wondered what happens to ammunition when it catches fire?  I came across this interesting video from SAAMI demonstrating how ammunition behaves when it is involved in a fire.  The video has some great footage, from ammo bonfires, to a simulated retail store catching fire.

Although the ammunition does discharge, the projectiles and shrapnel travel at a much lower speed due to the fact that the cartridges are not contained within a barrel.  Take a look at the video below:
